Lost: Dignity, iPod

Well, I guess the good news is I was able to run the half marathon this morning … and I finished. The bad news is I finished in pain, and to add insult to injury, I lost my iPod.

As far as weeks go, this wasn't one of my best. Despite the pain in both my groin and my knee, I'm not real happy with my performance today, I really feel like I should have done better. I guess I'm not as mentally tough as I'd like to be—I could use a good does of Gene Smithson's MTXE (not to be mistaken with MTXE2—that I can do without).

I guess the bottom line is I didn't quit. After all, "pain is temporary, but quitting is forever." I'm just going to have to keep that in mind as I decide what I do from here.

OK, pity aside, I'd like to congratulate Shannon on completing her first ever half marathon and Eric for what I'm sure was a great time. Way to go guys.

Thank you Craig and congrats on finishing today! My friend, Marcy, also suffered a recent injury and completed the half and was disappointed with herself. I think you're both amazing to have worked through the pain and finished. It was hard for me and I have no injuries. Well done. :)
