I'm still working on getting some video up of Park's homecoming and a tour of the nursery (real one this time) as well as some new pictures and hopefully, if I can get everyone wrangled, a picture of Park with Zoe and Luka. In the meantime, for those of you who were unable to follow along online the other night—or dozed off—here is how it went down.
Just checked in at the hospital--going back to the room. Just trying to get this thing started.

In case you hadn't heard.
Monday evening at 9:52, Park Frisco Lindeman entered the world weighing in at 8 pounds, one ounce and measuring 20 inches—22 counting the hair. We're also happy to report that he came complete with everything he was supposed to have and nothing that he wasn't.
It was a long day for us—especially Carrie. We arrived at Wesley at 7:30 to start the induction, but things didn't really start to progress until late in the afternoon which ultimately led up to a two-and-a-half hour marathon of pushing for Carrie—which I have to say was quite impressive. You'd never guess it by looking at her, but she's tough as nails.
The following are just of few photos from the past couple of days.
Here's Park moments after birth (ha, that's kind of funny, get it? Afterbirth? Don't judge me, after you've seen what I've seen that's the kind of thing that I find funny.)
Here's Carrie's first look at her new son.
Vice versa.
The whole family (well, not the "whole" family, they wouldn't buy that Zoe and Luka were therapy dogs).
Breaking out the "Big Boy Brush" during bath time.
A rested Carrie and Park.
Craig's soothing technique.
The official hospital photo shoot.
We also shot some video of today's homecoming, but it's the first time we've used the new camera and we are having trouble uploading the files. As soon as we can get that fixed (which may be a while) we'll get it up. Until then, this concludes the first of several posts in this series.

There once was a dog …
A little over two years ago, my family was put in a tailspin by the untimely passing of an extremely important member. Princess Zeta Moon del Mundo (or Zeta for short) may have technically been Curt and Cheryl's dog, but over the years she was unofficially adopted by each and every one of us. She was ornery, funny, loving and downright beautiful … the kind of beauty that extended all of the way down to her soul.
Before meeting "Z", Carrie was a self-proclaimed "small dog person" but that all changed when early one morning Zeta hopped up on the bed where Carrie was sleeping and promptly sat down on her as if she was simply imposing her will on Carrie. Because of that moment—and many more to come—I have Zeta to thank for bringing Zoe and Luka into our lives.
When we lost her (and I truly mean "we") everyone was devestated, but none more than Curt and Cheryl. Zeta was such a huge part of their lives that her passing left a void that will never be replaced. Added to those emotions was the fact that they were preparing to start a family and now were faced with the reality that their children would never get to know Z.
And the more I thought about it, the more it bothered me too.
While I knew I could never bring her back from them, I came up with something I could do to keep a piece of her alive for future generations. So, without any previous experience, I set out to create a children's book in Z's memory.
From the very start, I knew I wanted the book to revolve around the period of time Curt, Cheryl and Zeta spent living and playing on their sailboat the Oread, traveling from Galveston Bay to Key West. I had heard them describe those months on the boat together as some of the best times they'd had in their lives and I spent the better part of a year trying to craft something I hoped was worthy of the experience. To help, I enlisted Johanna "Joey" Shoop one of the designers I work with here at WSU and someone who just happens to be an extremely talented fine artist and illustrator.
After a couple of months, I was ready to present a first draft to Curt, Cheryl (and now their daughter Hagen) for Christmas.
Fast forward several more months and the book is now a finished product … well, almost. While I have printed a few hardback versions, the book, titled "The Big Black Dog and the Big Blue Sea" is now in production and set to be published in late June/early July. It will be available through all major bookstores—Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, etc.—as well as through its very own Web site that's currently being developed (the best way to get a copy … if you'd like to get one).
Here's what it looks like.
Here's an inside spread.
And here's the inspiration.
We miss you Zeta.

There's no sugar coating this
As pregnancies go, mine seems to be going fairly easy. I never found myself staring into the toilet or popping Tums to soothe heartburn. I haven't had issues sleeping (Craig, on the other hand, has had to deal with something I recently picked up ... snoring) and I haven't had any weird cravings or lost my appetite. But there is one thing I've been dealing with the last couple of weeks that would make Big Foot proud. Yep, it appears all the recent weight gain is either going to the belly or the feet. The belly I can work with, but the swollen ankles, feet and toes are another story. It's hard enough to bend over to get the shoes on, but now I can't even tie them. They don't make laces long enough. Lucky for me, the weather is warming up and the days to the big finale are counting down so it's getting easier to explain why I'm wearing flip flops to a client meeting.
Are you sure you can stomach this?
There's no turning back if you keep scrolling down.
You asked for it.
If you're still reading at this point, the least I can do is share the latest update on the timing of little Lindy's arrival. The official due date is this Saturday, and if he doesn't choose to make an appearance on his own by this weekend, they're inducing me first thing next Monday. The little guy's baby book finally arrived in the mail today (nothing like last minute planning on my part!) and I'm wondering if there's an ink pad big enough to not only capture his little footprint but mine right next to it.
Stay tuned!
Carrie

Odds and Ends
We haven't been too good about keeping up with the posts lately (there's been just a couple of things going on) but week 39 seems to be turning into the calm before the storm so we're going to try to play catch up a bit.
First of all, I just wanted to let everyone know that, if everything works out and I have a laptop with me when it's deemed "go time," I plan on posting up-to-the-minute accounts over on my Twitter page. If you're interested, just search for Craig Lindeman or "luckytcb." After the fact, I'll also be updating this page.
Secondly, we shot a few pictures of Carrie this afternoon just so everyone could see just how great she looks going into the home stretch (maybe that was a bad choice of words).
Anyway, here she is.
And last, but not least, I know a lot of you have been wanting to get a look at the room, so while big momma wasn't looking, Zoe, Luka and I tried to give everyone a sneak peek.
Enjoy.

Fear is setting in.
As we get closer to the due date, countless rational and irrational thoughts are flying through our heads, everything from I wonder what color his eyes are going to be to what if he wants to become a high school wrestler? We've also been noticing a few changes in Zoe and Luka that may indicate they're going through the same process (although Zoe is probably less worried about the kid slapping on a singlet and more concerned that he may inherit Carrie's throwing arm). Luka has even be so preoccupied he hasn't been eating over the past couple of days. Every time he concentrates long enough to take a bite, he's instantly distracted by the littlest noise Carrie has made upstairs—although I will note that he was still able to successfully eat the new shredded chicken bits and leave the kibble.
So what's been on his mind?
This kid.
