Happy Mother's Day … I made a mess.

We started celebrating mother's day pretty early this morning—sometime between one and three, whenever it was that Park politely requested Carrie's presence. However Carrie wasn't feeling overly festive at that exact moment so we put the real festivities off until around 9. That's when Zoe, Luka and I decided to make Carrie some pancakes for breakfast.

Now we could have gone the easy way and popped open a box of Bisquick and called it good, but this was Carrie's first Mother's Day so we went all out and made them from scratch with the help of this recipe. We thought they turned out pretty good, but we're afraid we were still a little overshadowed by Park who surprised Carrie with these yesterday.Teaches me to never leave my wallet and cell phone on the changing table again.

We're not sure what the rest of the day is going to hold, it depends a lot on how Carrie feels. If it's anything like yesterday, it's gonna look a lot like this.
Being Mother's Day and all, one final note on Carrie.

She has been amazing. It's been an incredible experience to sit back and watch her transform into a mom—and a great one at that. She seems completely all-consumed by love and we're all lucky to have her in our lives.

I find you both amazing parents already. The love you feel for each other is apparent, and there is nothing more any Mom would wish to have for her first Mother's Day. Don't be afraid to spoil each other! Thanks for spoiling me by having this blog so I can see Park and his parents whenever I wish (just like I check on Hagen and her parents).

A nap with a sleeping baby is the best mother's day gift! Happy 1st mother's day, Carrie!

It's great having the blog to follow. Great photography by both of you! Little Park is adorable (and has very good taste in Mother's Day flowers!).

Amen, to all of the comments made.

Sam and I are truly blessed our boys brought Carrie and Cheryl into our lives and family.

Now we have the privilege of seeing them start their families.

It is such a treat to watch Hagen grow and develop through the courtesy of skype. Just seeing Park these last two weeks is amazing. They are so special.

To all the children of all grandparents, Thank you for giving us these gifts.

I just got to have the greatest Mother's Day (with Erin & Scott & future boo boo) and post-Mother's Day week ever by getting to stay a few days with Carrie, Craig & Park this week. What a special week for me. What a gift to be around this beatiful newborn and his amazing parents.
Love to all & thanks for a great week.
